Albury House is a thatched 17th Century spacious, stylish and comfortable family home in the centre of Charmouth, ideal all the year round for family get togethers or two families. There are two reception rooms, one with a wood burning stove, a four oven AGA plus a separate electric oven and hob. All the good sized bedrooms are light and airy. There is a conservatory with a utility area leading onto the garden. The shops and beach are a short walk away and perfect for rock-pooling, fossil hunting and exploring the Jurassic Coast. Guests are well catered for with basic Sky TV, Blu-ray player, Xbox 360, games books, DVD’s and children’s toys. Outside there is a lovely enclosed large garden with a good sized sunny terrace (wooden table and chairs for 10 and barbecue), a football net and trampoline plus plenty of parking to the rear of the property, a real bonus in Charmouth.
Please note this property has a capacity of 10 (+3 sleeping on sofa/truckle beds). These can be added during the booking process (£40 per person).

Ground Floor
Entrance into the hallway which opens out into the sitting room.
The sitting room, with its warm contemporary feel, has two large sofas and a charming love seat in front of the wood burning stove. The large LCD television has Sky and a Blu-ray player.
Beyond the sitting room is the snug with its two plump armchairs to sink into whilst whiling an afternoon away reading.
The television room has a sofa in front of a large LCD television with Sky, Blu-ray player and an Xbox 360 with multiple controllers and games. A selection of books, Blu-rays and DVD's, games and children’s toys are available. Please note that the fireplace in this room is ornamental.
The conservatory has an ancient grape vine. There is a table at one end with seating for five. At the other end, there a utility area with Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble dryer. Access into the garden makes this a perfect spot to leave your flip flops, buckets and spades after a day at the beach.
The fully fitted dining kitchen has a four-oven AGA, separate electric oven and gas hob, large fridge and freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and Marley sound system. The table extends to seat ten comfortably. Please note there is a step between the country kitchen end with the farmhouse table and AGA and the working area of the kitchen which includes worktop space and the electric oven and gas hob. At the end of this room, there is a spiral staircase which leads up to the first floor snug area (see below).
A separate study provides a quiet room away from it all with a desk and chair. This room is where the WiFi is set up, so perfect for anyone studying or needing to be in touch with the office.

First Floor
The master bedroom includes a super-king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers, a fitted wardrobe and a full length mirror. The en-suite shower room has a shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and a wc.
Bedroom two includes full size bunk beds, a fitted wardrobe and a mirror. There is also a truckle bed available which can be put in this room (at an additional cost*). The en-suite shower room has a shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and a wc.
Bedroom three includes a king-size bed, bedside tables with lamps, a fitted wardrobe and a chair. The en-suite shower room has a shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and a wc.
Bedroom four includes a double bed, bedside tables with lamps and a fitted wardrobe.
Bedroom five includes two single beds with a bedside table and lamp. There is also a truckle bed available which can be put in this room (at an additional cost*). This room has a cloakroom with a wash basin and wc but please note there is no shower. Just outside this lovely room is a large chest of drawers.
The main bathroom has a relaxing roll top bath, separate double shower, wash basin, heated towel rail and wc. Please note that the main bathroom can be accessed through two doors – one from the hallway, the other from the snug area.
The snug area looks out over the garden and has a day bed with truckle which can also be used as a single bed (at an additional cost*). The spiral staircase from this room leads down to the end of the kitchen.

Outside
Outside, there is a patio area with a table and seating for ten (additional seating for six can be found at the top of the garden), Weber charcoal barbecue and an outdoor table tennis table.
A bonus for the children, the large lawn has a football goal and trampoline, whilst the adults can relax on the two sun loungers.

This luxury home away from home enjoys a prominent position on the main road through Charmouth, a charming seaside village offering a choice of pubs, gift boutiques, a well-stocked local shop and bakery.
A stunning setting along the Jurassic coast, families can enjoy fossil hunting and rock pooling, whilst the more energetic can take advantage of this fabulous walking region, all within a short stroll of Albury House.
The popular but unspoilt town of Lyme Regis is just a ten minute drive away, where you will find a sandy beach, eateries, fishing trips, art and music festivals and its iconic cobb and harbour. Make sure you visit the Town Mill Bakery, it’s a firm favourite.
West Dorset is a fabulous location for foodies: with Mark Hix’s Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis; the highly acclaimed Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock and its equally fabulous sister café, The Watch House in West Bay; as well as Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen and Deli in nearby Axminster along with the River Cottage HQ just outside Axminster.
