Tucked away in the heart of Swanage, this unique 16th Century, Grade II listed old mill house has its very own original watermill and duck pond. The secret garden is delightful with trickling waterfalls, bundles of colour in spring and a private terrace with seating for eight. A perfect hideaway for a fresco dining.

Ground Floor

The sitting room has a four seater sofa and three armchairs in front of an inglenook fireplace with an open fire, Grandfather clock, a large coffee table, side lamp tables, a sofa table, a large foot stool and LCD television with Freeview and DVD player. A complementary basket of logs is provided.
The dining room is a stunning space with views out onto the old mill wheel, a sideboard, exposed walls and original beams. It has a dining table with seating for eight.
The well equipped "cooks" kitchen is extremely well stocked and includes an electric oven, separate microwave/convection oven, gas hob, dishwasher, wine cooler, fridge and freezer. A farmhouse-style breakfast bar seats six.
The utility includes a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a downstairs cloakroom with wc.

First Floor

A separate library is a great place to relax in front of the large LCD television with Freeview. This comfortable room has a four seater sofa, three seater sofa, an arm chair and a large selection of books and DVD's as well as a desk, coffee table and lamp tables.
Bedroom two has a king size bed (5'), a dressing table and a chair, side lamp tables, a chaise longue, a large wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a wall-mounted Freeview television and an ornamental fireplace.
Bedroom three has a double bed (4'6"), chest of drawers and hanging space.
The family bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, wash basin and wc, glass storage shelves and mirrors.

Second Floor

The master bedroom has a king size bed (5ft), a chest of drawers, a large fitted wardrobe, an easy chair, lamp tables and LCD television with Freeview. The large en-suite bathroom has a roll top bath, wash basin and wc.
Bedroom four is a beautiful beamed room with two single beds, a wardrobe, a lamp table, a chest and a chest of drawers.


Delightful well-stocked secret walled garden with another garden complete with a pond to the front and waterfall fed by a natural spring, there is another large pond to the front of the house. (Please note that due to the water features in the garden, it is advised that children are supervised). The sound of gently gurgling water is truly relaxing where old English flora and exotic palms sit happily together to create a truly enchanting secret space only moments away from the main town. There is also a separate sitting area complete with a barbecue and seating together with a sun terrace and loungers, with the garden to the front and back enjoying sun all day.
A short stroll to the beach with a gastro pub at the end of the road and the steam railway is just moments away; there is certainly no need to get the car out as you can walk everywhere with ease.

Off street parking is available for two cars.

Surrounding local area

Located in the heart of Swanage, The Old Mill House is less than a five minute walk from the stunning Jurassic coast. The coastal walk, in one direction to Durlston Country Park and Studland Bay in the other, is a great way to blow those cobwebs away.
Traditional pubs and restaurants serving local seasonal produce and the sandy beach at Swanage Bay can all be found within walking distance.
Why not hop on the steam railway to Corfe and visit the fairytale ruins of Corfe Castle; visit Tyneham, the village evacuated during World War II; or wonder at the natural phenomenon of Durdle Door.
