Sherborne is a delightful, picturesque town with plenty to offer its visitors. It is dominated by the super golden-coloured Abbey which dates back to Saxon times. There is an abundance of medieval buildings, the picturesque Almshouse, two Castles as well as a couple of waterwheels.
The town’s narrow streets are lined with old grey stone buildings along with early timber-framed, gabled-ended houses and local Ham stone structures.
Although a busy business and market centre it still retains small and specialist businesses and it has become an important town in the region for Art and Antique Dealers. There is a delightful shopping centre with a variety of handcrafted goods and elegant fashions as well as plenty of tea and coffee shops.
