Walking in Dorset
All Year Round
Back to list
Dorset is a great place if you enjoy walking, with such sights as Lulworth Cove; Durdle Door; Gold Hill in Shaftesbury; the lost village of Tyneham; and the Dorset coast including the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
Dorset as a county is very rural with plenty of small villages, country pubs and thatched cottages, and combined with the South West coast path there’s plenty of choice for all.
If you’d like to organize yourself before you arrive have a look at Walking World which offers thousands of walks across the country and you can download the walks individually or become a member for an annual fee. If you’d prefer to have a book in your hand there are a number of books available on Amazon, with books focusing on short walks, pub walks, coastal walks, and even adventurous walks!
