The Gate House is a handsome country house located on the Dean’s Court Estate on the edge of Wimborne.
Ideal for family holidays and celebrations with friends. Play board games around the fire, soak in the ultimate roll top bath and dine in style in the theatrical dining room. Ideal for all age groups, the more recently added media room will keep teenagers entertained, whilst the hot tub is perfect for all to relax in day and night.
Foodies will delight in the sustainable lifestyle on offer from freshly laid eggs, to honey from the bees and organic fresh produce from the historic walled garden. Even the logs provided for the fire are from estate woodland.

Ground Floor

The kitchen houses a traditional AGA but for those not accustomed to AGAs, the owners have thoughtfully provided a conventional electric oven and gas hob as well as a dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble drier. There’s also a breakfast room for relaxed mornings.
For meal times on a grander scale, there’s an impressive dining room with seating for fourteen.
The drawing room has an open fire, two three-seater sofas and three armchairs so there’s ample space to watch a film, read a book or have fun with the generous supply of board games. Also provided is an Apple TV with Netflix account, guests receive a £20 credit for Apple movies.
A recent addition to The Gate House is a newly fitted-out Media & Games room, complete with its 75-inch screen and state of the art sound system, X-box gaming, giant bean bags and table football. For outdoor fun the media room opens onto the terrace where there is a bubbling 8-seater hot-tub and barbecue.
Interiors enthusiasts will marvel at the wonderful turned wooden staircase but for those less able to climb it, there’s a ground floor twin bedded room with chair, a set of drawers, attractive ornamental fireplace and en-suite shower room. There is a separate wc and access to the garden.

First Floor

There are six bedrooms on the first floor and three bathrooms including a large family bathroom with bath, double shower, wc and basin.
Bedroom two has a king sized bed with bedside table and lamps as well as a wardrobe, chest of drawers and occasional chair. An ornamental fireplace completes the romance.
Bedroom three also has a king sized bed with bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers and occasional chair. There are useful hooks for hanging clothes and a mirror.
Bedroom four is the same as 3 but with the addition of an en-suite shower room.
A further bathroom with bath, separate shower and wash basin, alongside is a separate wc and washbasin.
Five steps lead to bedrooms five and six.
Bedroom five contains 2 x single beds which share a generous sized table with lamp between: there’s also an occasional chair and hooks for storage.
Bedroom six also has 2 x single beds, a table, lamp, chair and hooks for hanging clothes but it also houses a chest of drawers and an ornamental fireplace.

Second Floor
Bedroom seven occupies the top floor of the house and, as it’s located in the eaves of the building, has sloping ceilings and oozes character with exposed brick and stone walls and beams. There’s a king size bed, bedside tables with lamps, a desk style table with lamp and chair as well as a chest of drawers and full length mirror. There’s also an easy chair by the window providing a secluded spot to curl up with a book.
The wow factor comes from the en-suite bathroom where a roll top bath takes centre stage alongside an exposed brick wall. There’s also a heated towel rail, basin and wc.

Off street parking is available for up to 4 cars.
A high chair can be provided upon request.
Well behaved dogs welcomed. Please note an additional £25 charge applies per dog per stay.

Surrounding local area

Just two hours from London, Wimborne is the gateway to Dorset with its rich pastoral landscapes and the dramatic Jurassic coast.
The sandy beach at Bournemouth is just half an hour away, as is lively Sandbanks and Poole harbour.
There’s excellent sailing on offer at Poole and for those who prefer the surf under their feet, Boscombe sits between Bournemouth and Christchurch and can be reached in just thirty minutes.
If sand between your toes is not your thing, there’s a wealth of historic homes and gardens to visit and miles of breath-taking walks.
