The Gate House is a handsome country house located on the Dean’s Court Estate on the edge of Wimborne.

Ideal for family holidays and celebrations with friends. Play board games around the fire, relax in the roll top bath and dine in style in the theatrical dining room. Ideal for all age groups, the more recently added media room will keep teenagers entertained, whilst the hot tub is perfect for all to enjoy day and night.

Foodies will be delighted to receive a welcome basket of local, homemade treats on arrival. Expect to be greeted with freshly baked bread from our local bakery, locally sourced free-range eggs, home-baked treats, locally produced jam and of course milk in the fridge and a selection of Dorset teas and ground coffee.

Complete with 75-inch screen and state of the art sound system, Xbox One with complementary use of Microsoft Game Pass, giant bean bags and table football. For outdoor fun the media room opens onto the terrace where there is a bubbling 8-seater hot-tub and barbecue.

With king-size bed and two single beds, making this an ideal family room. This room occupies the top floor of the house and, as it’s located in the eaves of the building, has sloping ceilings and oozes character with exposed brick and stone walls and beams.
En-suite bathroom
With a roll top bath, heated towel rail, wash basin and wc.

Large garden with outside seating area and hot tub. A charcoal barbecue is provided (guests to provide their own fuel).
Off street parking is available for up to four cars.

A welcome basket of logs is provided.
A high chair & travel cot (No linen) can be provided upon request.
Well behaved dogs welcomed (small additional charge).

Surrounding local area

Take a short stroll into Wimborne where you will find numerous foodie delights in its cafes, pubs and fine restaurants. The weekend brings a popular market where you can source local produce from regional suppliers including a butchers, bakers, fishmonger, fruit stalls and cheese stands.
The nearest beaches are at Bournemouth and Poole, a half hour drive away. Poole Harbour has excellent sailing, whereas the surfers amongst you will be interested in the surf reef at Boscombe. A little further afield you can explore the Isle of Purbeck and stunning Jurassic coastline.
Superb walks are in abundance with over three hundred miles of well signed footpaths, bridleways and byways to explore.
Garden lovers and history seekers will be in their element with many National Trust properties and gardens to discover.
